A typical chalet for Lovers
The French Cottage is the small house next door to the Napoleonvilla, a quaint old wooden cereal box, adapted for couples and small families.
Cereal or bacon boxes (so called “Troadkastn“) were formerly used for storage of cereals, dried meat, fruit and other valuable assets. They have therefore been carefully built apart the farm houses to protect them against fire.
Since 2007 the “French Cottage” is used for holiday purposes - in winter as well as in summer. The over 200 year old, two-story wood frame construction offers 40 m2 maximum comfort for two, three or four people.
On the ground floor a fully equipped kitchen with solid cherry table and a comfortable corner seat is available, also a small bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer and plenty of shelves, stereo system and Internet connection.
The upper floor consists of a large living room with original old small peep windows and skylights, furthermore of two head-to-head lying single beds and a sofa bed (a crib is also possible). For long evenings a flat screen TV is available.
The house is unique, inspiring and relaxing. It can be booked all year-round, on a daily or weekly basis - with or without breakfast, daily cleaning service, shopping service and housekeeping. Find out!
